Why become a Member of the PPOC Atlantic or PPOC?
Joining the Professional Photographers of Canada- Atlantic, will not only help you become a better photographer by networking with others in your field,  but you will have fun, be inspired, and make many friends along the way!  At our annual conventions, seminars, and workships you'll get the opportunity to meet suppliers displaying the latest in products, equipment, and services, along with the chance to experience top notch speakers discussing leading edge topics!
Here are the different types of memberships and their benefits:
ACTIVE Membership
 This classification is open to anyone who is engaged in any field of photography on a full time basis and/or who derives their major source of income from photography.  This includes full time photographers, studio owners, etc.  New Active members must supply their current provincial sales tax number.
 Membership in the PPOC Atlantic entitles you to

  •     PPOC Atlantic seminars and educational meetings (free or reduced cost).
  •     Ability to compete in the Annual Print Competition.
  •     Reduced registration rate at the Annual PPOC Atlantic Convention.
  •     Subscription to our quarterly newsletter, “Developments”.
  •     Chance to win the two $500 Educational Scholarships given out each year.
  •     Ability to vote or run for executive positions.
  •     Use of the logo in advertising and marketing.
  •     Use of the PPOC Atlantic - CD Library
    Membership in the PPOC entitles you to:


    OBSERVER MEMBERSHIP
    This classification is open to anyone with an interest in photography.  Observer status is designed as a stepping stone to join and 'observe' to see what the association is all about!  Then when you're ready you can get more involved and become a full Active Member.  Observer members do not have voting privileges, are unable to run for executive office, and are unable to use the PPOC Atlantic, or PPOC logos or regalia of the associations in any form of advertising or marketing.
    Observer Membership entitles you to:
    • Reduced registration at the PPOC Atlantic Convention and Seminars
    • Subscription to our quarterly Developments Newsletter
    • Use of the PPOCA video library
    SCHOOL Membership 

    This classification is open to all schools whom offer a full time photography program in the Atlantic provinces. The School membership offers all full time photography students membership by affiliation with that school. All photography students attending a member school are members of both PPOC Atlantic and PPOC so they may enter both the regional and national print shows. 
    PPOC Atlantic STUDENT Membership 

    If you are a student at a recognized Photography College, you are entitled to student membership in PPOC Atlantic.

    Benefits of  PPOC Atlantic STUDENT membership:
    •   Reduced registration rates at the Annual PPOC Atlantic/Altantique Convention.
    •   Reduced rates for all PPOC Atl. seminars and educational meetings.
    •   May enter the Annual Print Competition and be eligible for the Student of the Year Award.
    •   Use of the CD Library.
    •   Networking opportunities with working photographers in their areas.
    PPOC STUDENT Membership


    Benefits of  PPOC STUDENT membership –
    •  *National Student Print Competition
    •      *PPOC mailings
    RETIRED Membership

     This classification is open to formerly Active members who have retired from the field of photography but wish to keep in contact with the Association and remain in the directory.

    Benefits of a RETIRED membership are the same as those of a full Active membership with the exception that their listing must state “retired”.

    Benefits of PPOC RETIRED membership

         Retired members receive all the regular member benefits of the full Active member including Print Salon, Accreditation.  As the criteria for retired members is that they must not be in competition with Active members for business, their listing on the PPOC web site must list that they are retired. They must no longer make a living from photography and there is no age requirement.
